之前一直有安装过cairo-dock，但后来由于compiz挂了，就一直没用过，现在又将compiz折腾好了，又可以重新启用cairo-dock了。

但很多时候我都不想启用compiz,因为它太耗资源了。

在网上找了下，原来可以不启用compiz就可以用的，但我这里 cairo-dock的背景一直是黑色的。

1. Activate Compiz, or Metacity as window manager. For Metacity, open gconf-editor, and navigate to Apps->metacity->general. Check the 'compositing_manager' box, and Metacity will immediately restart with compositing.
2. Start cairo with 'c' option: $ cairo-dock -o -c.

我用的是第一种，在gconf-editor里，启用compositing_manager,再启动cairo-dock,终于不黑了：
